Welcome to CauseToPaddle.org, the expedition based fundraising campaign highlighting the connection between first world environmental stewardship and the humanitarian effort to ensure clean water and basic medical care for patients in need of more resources.

I’m Conor Flannery, founder of Cause To Paddle.  As an avid outdoor enthusiast and experienced medical device engineer, I’ve combined my two passions into an epic solo kayak journey of 2,500 miles from Seattle, WA to Anchorage, AK on behalf of MedShare, the top rated non-profit medical supply re-distribution center in the US.  The goal of my 5 month expedition is to raise funding for at least 1000 boxes of medical supplies for MedShare, while emphasizing the human impact possible through environmentally responsible solutions.

Since 1999, MedShare has successfully bridged the gap between first world surplus medical equipment and care to hospitals desperately in need both in the US and abroad.  By way of the collection and redistribution of these supplies, MedShare has actively diverted nearly ONE MILLION cubic feet of surplus supplies away from our landfills and into the hands of those most in need.

To underscore the two-fold benefit of implementing these kinds of creative solutions to environmental problems, Cause to Paddle is a chronicled expedition utilizing leave-no-trace camping and human-powered kayaking that shall include an organized media campaign inclusive of regional/national media relations, written and video-blogs as well as a viral networking strategy.

100% of financial donations will go to support MedShare, a 501(c)3 organization.  All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.  This includes donations through MedShare’s website here and support in-kind for use during the kayaking expedition.  Corporate matching is also possible!
